Dr. Nisbet has been actively involved in conducting clinical trials since 2011. These studies test new ways to prevent, detect, diagnose, or treat health conditions. Hamilton Mill Clinical Research conducts and participates in ongoing trials that help in the development of new therapies for patients with pulmonary diseases such as COPD and asthma. Participation in a research study is always voluntary. The research participant is closely monitored and receives any study medications and access to potential new therapies. All study-related visits, tests, and drugs will be provided at no cost. In addition, reimbursement for time and travel may be provided.
Currently, we conduct research in the areas of COPD, asthma, pulmonary hypertension, and congestive heart failure. The purpose of research is to help develop new and more effective treatment options for these conditions. Treatments in clinical trials might be new drugs or new combinations of drugs or new ways to use existing therapies. Clinical trials are conducted with pharmaceutical companies using medications that have demonstrated promise.
If you or anyone you know is interested in learning more about available clinical research opportunities, please contact Hamilton Mill Clinical Research at 470-297-6789. You do not need to be a patient of Nisbet Pulmonary Medicine in order to participate in research. Please feel free to pass this information to anyone who is interested in helping in the development of new treatments for pulmonary disease.
